It has been over two years since I first came to Barcelona, which is a scary thought! I think I was more excited to see the boys than they were to see me, scratch that, I KNOW I was more excited to see them than they were to see me. It's probably safe to say that most kids are the similar in that, you'll their undivided love and attention until something new and more exciting comes along. Not because they are bad kids, because...well duh, its something new and more exciting. I am definitely no longer new or exciting.

I am currently sitting in my former Barcelona home where my first big adventure began. If you're wondering how I got here, you probably aren't the only one. I have wound up back in one of my (if not the number one) favourite cities in the world after a lot of dreaming and undecided-ness turned into a relatively quick decision to head back across oceans.
Traveling around I have met so many new people. Some are amazing and you keep in contact with, some are easy to forget, and others stick in your head but not necessarily for the best reasons. Luckily or unluckily for me I happen to have met a few of the later on my travels.
Hola, I have exactly two weeks left here in Spain. Thinking back, three months sounded like a long time but now I feel like I have blinked and it has all disappeared! And living in a city where there is so much culture and activity I still have a lot to see and do in my last two weeks. I am so glad that I made the decision to come here and have not regretted it for one day! Hola, friends and family. This friday night in honor of Monique's birthday, Monique, Molly and I planned a little adventure in Barcelona, spending the night away from out families together! When I say planned I use the term very loosely because we weren't exactly organized. There are so many choices of things to do so we just made a rough plan and went from there (much to the frustration of others when they asked us what we were doing) We stayed in a hostel called Itaca which was really cool. It was in the perfect place in the city, not far from La Rambla and Plaça de Catalunya. They actually have apartments just around the corner from the main hostel and that is where we stayed. We had a room all to ourselves, and pushed the single bed up against the double so it was just like a giant sleepover. The only other people we saw the whole time we were there was a couple who we saw for a grand total of 5 minutes the next morning, so we basically had the place to ourselves. Perfect! This was my first time ever in a hostel and I was happy as Larry, although Monique has warned me that I shouldn't expect thing to be as good as this most of the time. :( |
